The basics
Visits, sessions, events and conversions, explained in plain language so your data makes sense at first glance.
Before you dive into the dashboards, it's worth getting four words straight. We use them all over the docs and all over Oculy.
Visitor
A person who lands on your site. Oculy counts them anonymously, without knowing who they are or following them from one day to the next. When you see "unique visitors", that's how many different people came to your site in that period.
Session
A visit from start to finish. It begins when someone arrives and closes after a while of inactivity. The same person can have several sessions in a day.
Event
Something that happens on your site: viewing a page, submitting a form, clicking a WhatsApp button. Many are measured for you, and you can create your own.
Conversion
An event that's worth gold to you: a purchase, a sign-up, a contact. You mark which events are goals and Oculy tells you how many conversions you get and where they come from.
Plain language, always
In Oculy you won't see "bounce rate: 32.8%", you'll see "1 in 3 visits leaves without touching a thing". The numbers always come with their explanation.
